Etogrand 90 Tablet is used for pain relief. It relieves pain and inflammation in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis.

How to use Etogrand Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Etogrand 90 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Etogrand Tablet works

Etogrand 90 Tablet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called COX-2 inhibitors. It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Both Etogrand and celecoxib are the medicines which inhibit an enzyme COX-2 (Cyclooxygenase-2) causes pain and inflammation. However, according to the research studies, Etogrand is better than celecoxib in terms of effectiveness.

No. Etogrand is a pain killer. It should be avoided in hypertension as it can lead to failure of the antihypertensive therapy and there is increased risk of fluid retention and oedema.
Q. Can a patient of diabetes use Etogrand?
Normally painkillers are to be avoided in a patient with diabetes. Etogrand can increase the risk of kidney failure when given in a patient of diabetes with compromised renal function. Inform your doctor if you have diabetes before starting Etogrand.
Q. Can I take Etogrand along with Thiocolchicoside?
Yes. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant which is given in combination with Etogrand but it is not approved. Consult your doctor before starting this medication.
Q. How to differentiate Etogrand and meloxicam?
Meloxicam causes gastric toxicity and can lead to black stools due to bleeding whereas Etogrand is comparatively safer for the gastric mucosa. Etogrand has cardiovascular (heart attack and stroke) side effects.

Blood levels of methotrexate is increased when it is given with Etogrand. Proper monitoring of the blood levels and adequate dose adjustments are required if they are prescribed together.

Etogrand decrease lithium renal excretion and therefore increase lithium plasma levels. If necessary, monitor blood lithium closely and adjust the lithium dosage while the combination is being taken.
Q. Can I take Etogrand with tacrolimus?
No. You should avoid Etogrand with tacrolimus. It increases the risk of kidney damage by many folds when these two are given together.

Yes, you can take Etogrand for osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease and Etogrand may help in reducing the pain associated with the disease.
