How to use Esro L Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Esro L Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How Esro L Tablet works
Esro L Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Taking Ethinyl Estradiol with alcohol can cause minor side effects
Pregnancy
CAUTION
Esro L Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Esro L Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Nonhormonal contraceptives is preferred in breastfeeding women, especially during the first 4 weeks postpartum
Driving
It is not known whether Esro L Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
There is limited information available on the use of Esro L Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Esro L Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Yes, femilon is a good method for contraception. You should take 1 tab daily at a fixed time for 21 days. After a gap of 1 week you can start the next pack. Don't miss any dose. Rest you can discuss with your.

you can take an I pill within 72 hrs on ur act. but u ve to remember it is only 90% effective. no medication is 100% effective. and u can not take I pills more den once as it is high dose progesterone and repeated doses causes cycle disturbances and unpredictable ovulation and increases chancea of unwanted pregnancy so please shift to a permanant method of contraception.

Q. Are there any specific contraindications to the use of Esro L?
The use of Esro L is not recommended in patients with known allergy to any of its component or excipients. It is not indicated in patients with a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, migraine headache, liver disease or tumors, uterine bleeding, breast cancer, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (blood clot).
Q. Can Esro L be taken by a patient who smokes?
Esro L should not be taken by a person who smokes. Smoking increases the risk of serious side effects like death from heart attack, blood clots or stroke. The risk increases in patients who are obese or over 35 years old and with an increasing number of cigarettes. Inform your doctor if you smoke, before Esro L.
Q. What if I miss my regular menstrual periods while taking Esro L?
If you miss your regular menstrual periods while taking Esro L, you may be pregnant. Some women may miss periods or have light periods while taking Esro L even when they are not pregnant. Contact your doctor if you think you are pregnant, missed one or two periods. This may happen in case you are not taking Esro L at the same time every day.
Q. Are there any drug interactions associated with the use of Esro L?
Yes, Esro L does show drug interaction with drugs or herbal products that induce certain enzymes (ex, CYP3A4) in our body. These drugs may decrease the effectiveness of Esro L or increase breakthrough bleeding (bleeding between menstrual periods). Inform your doctor about all the medicines that you are taking when you are advised to take Esro L.
Q. Can Esro L cause bleeding or spotting between the regular menstrual periods?
Yes, Esro L can cause some unexpected bleeding or spotting, especially during the first three months. This bleeding or spotting decrease with time. You may have unexpected bleeding if you are not taking pills regularly. Do not stop taking Esro L because of this. If the spotting continues for more than seven days or if the bleeding is heavy. Consult a healthcare provider.
Q. What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Esro L?
Keep this medicine in the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it as mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children, and other people.
