How to use Dyril Plus Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
This will help to avoid stomach upset.
Avoid Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.
How Dyril Plus Tablet works
Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet is a combination of two antibiotics: Furazolidone and Metronidazole which treat stomach and intestine infections. Furazolidone works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Metronidazole kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Pregnancy
Unknown. Human and animal studies are not available. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Dyril Plus 100 mg/300 mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Kidney

Yes, Dyril Plus can cause a temporary metallic taste. This metallic taste can be lowered by chewing sugar-free gum, mints and by brushing teeth after the meals.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Dyril Plus and for at least 3 days after stopping it. Drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may cause an unpleasant reaction (Disulfiram-like reaction) with symptoms of stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.
