Uses

Silymarin is used in the treatment of cholestatic liver diseases, alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver.

How it works

Silymarin is an active principle obtained from milk thistle seed (Silybum marianum) . It might protect liver cells from toxic chemicals and drugs. It also seems to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Milk thistle plant extract might enhance the effects of estrogen.

Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent. It removes bile acid from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol. Because the body use cholesterol to make bile acids, the levels of cholesterol in the body is lowered.
