Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet is a combination of three medicines. It is prescribed to treat Tuberculosis. It fights against the bacteria to kill the microorganisms.

Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet is a prescription medicine. It can be taken with or without food. Take the medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. A missed dose should be taken as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy.

Some of the side effects of Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet are nausea, vomiting, rashes, etc. You may also feel dizzy, thus it is advised not to drive or operate machinery. To overcome dizziness you should drink plenty of fluid. If any of the side effects get aggravated, contact your doctor immediately. In cases of severe liver or kidney disease, consult your doctor before you start with the treatment. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided while you are on the treatment.

How to use Coxbact 3 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Coxbact 3 Tablet works

Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Isoniazid, Pyrazinamide and Rifampicin which treat tuberculosis. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering while Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by these bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Pyrazinamide, on the other hand works by slowing the growth of these bacteria.

Consuming alcohol while taking Coxbact 3 Forte Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
