Overview

Introduction

Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet is a prescription medicine and it is to be taken it as suggested by the doctor. It should be taken in an empty stomach and take it at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The course of the treatment must be completed even if you feel better. Sudden discontinuation of the treatment may affect the potency of the medicine. The medicine may take some to show its effects on the symptoms. However, it is advised to consult the doctor if you feel an aggravation of the condition or if your condition does not improve.

Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, vomiting, fever, dark-colored urine, sweating, increased saliva, etc. To cope up with the side effects, you should drink plenty of water. If any of the side effects get aggravated, you must consult your doctor immediately. Generally, serious side effects are rare. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.

  • Coping with Increased liver enzymes
    There may be no symptoms, so your doctor should carry out a blood test and give you advice. Some lifestyle changes can bring down levels of liver enzymes. In general, you will need to stop drinking alcohol or limit the amount you drink, lose weight and keep active. Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. Eat a healthy diet. Some particular foods like nuts, fatty fish, coffee, tea, olive oil, sprouts and bananas may be beneficial. Try to control stress as this can make your symptoms worse.
  • Coping with Gout
    You can help ease the pain by resting and raising the affected limb. Keep the joint cool by applying an ice pack. To prevent flare-ups, drink plenty of fluids but limit or avoid alcohol. Coffee and vitamin C are also believed to lower levels of uric acid which causes gout. Cut down on sugary drinks and avoid foods such as red meat, offal and seafood as they can make your gout worse. If your gout gets worse when taking this medicine, talk to your doctor. There may be an alternative.

How to use Cibutol Plus Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet with tyramine-rich food such as cheese, smoked fish, meats and some types of beer.

How Cibutol Plus Tablet works

Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: isoniazid and ethambutol which treat tuberculosis. Isoniazid prevents the TB bacteria from forming their own protective covering. This kills the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Ethambutol, on the other hand works by slowing the growth of these bacteria.

Consuming alcohol while taking Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).
Pregnancy

Breastfeeding

Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet occasionally causes sight problems and tingling or numbness in hand or feet. After taking this medicine you should not drive until you know how it affects you.
Kidney
CAUTION
Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cibutol Plus 300mg/800mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Kidney function tests are advisable before the start of this medicine.
Liver
CAUTION

Hello, TB medicines are given only when there is indication of tuberculosis. They are for treating tuberculosis.
