Doxofylline is used to prevent and treat wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness caused by asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a group of lung diseases that includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema).

How it works

Doxofylline belongs to a class of medications called xanthines. It works by relaxing and opening the airways, making it easier to breathe.
