Brintellix 10mg Tablet is a medicine prescribed to treat depression in adults. It belongs to a group of antidepressants known as serotonin modulator and stimulator (SMS). This medication helps to improve mood and energy levels, and reduce sadness and feelings of worthlessness in people with depression.

Brintellix 10mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it should be taken regularly at the same time each day. The dose and how often you need it will be decided by your doctor so that you get the right amount to control your symptoms. Your treatment may be continued for at least 6 months after your symptoms resolve. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully while taking this medicine. It may take a few weeks before you start to feel better. Do not change the dose or stop taking the medicine, even if you feel well. Doing so may make your condition worse.

Some common side effects of this medicine include vomiting, nausea, and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen. Let your doctor know straight away if you develop any sudden worsening of mood or any thoughts about harming yourself or if your condition does not improve or if it worsens.

Before taking Brintellix 10mg Tablet, you should tell your doctor if you have epilepsy (seizure disorder or fits), diabetes, liver or kidney disease, any heart problems, or are currently taking medicines for depression known as MAO inhibitors. If you stop taking Brintellix 10mg Tablet abruptly, you may have withdrawal symptoms such as irritability, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, nightmares, headache, and/or paresthesias (prickling, tingling sensation on the skin). Continue taking Brintellix 10mg Tablet for the duration as prescribed by your doctor to get maximum benefit. If you are not able to tolerate a dose or if you have completed your course of treatment, your doctor will reduce your dose gradually before taking you off this medicine completely.
