Introduction of Atenova Tablet

Atenova 25 Tablet is a medicine used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), angina (heart-related chest pain), arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm), and myocardial infarction (heart attack). Lowering blood pressure helps in preventing future heart attack and stroke. It should be taken regularly at a fixed time each day. This medicine should not be stopped abruptly. Lifestyle changes like low-fat diet, exercise, and not smoking may help this medicine work better. Dizziness may occur in some patients as a side effect, but it gets better with time.

How to use Atenova Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Atenova 25 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Atenova Tablet works

Atenova 25 Tablet is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

Alcohol
CAUTION
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Atenova 25 Tablet. Atenolol and alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Atenova 25 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
CAUTION
Atenova 25 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Atenova 25 Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Atenova 25 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Atenova 25 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended and can help in better dose adjustment.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Atenova 25 Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Expert Advice

  • It may cause dizziness. If this happens to you, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • It can hide symptoms of low blood sugar if you are diabetic. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly.
  • Do not stop taking Atenova 25 Tablet suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

I am having pain in left side of the chest also in left arm is it related to heart attack what can be done get relief ??

(1) I am diabetic and on insulin. Actrapdid 35, 35, 25 with Lantus 30. Recent HbA1C value 6.4 (2) I have high blood pressure and I am taking Rampiril (5mg b.i.d) with Hydrochloride thiozide (12.5 mg OD) and+ ? HS . BP is normally well below I have Cholesterol problem and so I am taking Atorvastatin 40(HS). My recent Lipid Profile is: Cholesterol 169, Triglycerides 107, HDL 38, LDL 109.6, VLDL 21.4, Cholestorol:HDL 4.44. (4) I also have Glaucoma and I am on eye drops (5) I have Ostopenia and so am taking Calcium tablets.(6) I underwent CABG surgery 14 months ago after surviving heart attack. Medication includes: Clopitab 150 A (7) Echo LVEF: 55% Low Haemoglobin: 11.2. Prescribed tablets for improving Haemoglobin discontinued due to aggravating situation (8) Current Unsolved Problem: Breathlessness: Severe breathlessness while rising up, sitting down, bending down, bending up, climbing stairs. (No breathlessness while walking. But daily walking not done for some months, because walking causes inflammation at the suture site.)
