How to use Amphipeg Injection

Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.

How Amphipeg Injection works

Amphipeg 50mg Injection works by binding to ergosterol, an important component of the cell membrane of fungi and the parasite that causes leishmaniasis. This binding creates pores in the membrane, leading to leakage of cell contents and death of the organism. The liposomal formulation helps deliver the drug more selectively to infected tissues, reduces toxicity to healthy cells, and improves safety, especially for the kidneys, while maintaining strong antifungal and antiparasitic activity.

Quick tips

  • Amphipeg 50mg Injection is usually given slowly through a drip under the supervision of a doctor. Do not attempt to self-administer.
  • Stay hydrated before and after the injection, as it may help reduce kidney-related side effects.
  • Inform your doctor if you feel chills, fever, or muscle pain during or after receiving Amphipeg 50mg Injection.
  • Regular blood and kidney tests may be needed while on Amphipeg 50mg Injection therapy. Do not skip your follow-ups.
  • Tell your doctor beforehand if you are on any other medicine that affects the kidneys or have had past kidney issues.
