Alsita-EM 10/1000 Tablet ER
Product introduction
Alsita-EM 10/1000 Tablet ER should be taken exactly as prescribed. It can be taken with or without food. Regular dosing is important to keep blood sugar under control. Do not skip doses or stop without medical advice, as this may cause uncontrolled diabetes. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, but do not double the dose.
The most common side effects include hypoglycaemia, headache, thirst, constipation, increased urination, and urinary tract infection. Some patients may experience low blood sugar when taken with insulin or sulfonylureas. Rarely, dehydration, excessive thirst, or ketoacidosis may occur.
Alsita-EM 10/1000 Tablet ER should not be used in patients with severe kidney impairment, end-stage renal disease, or dialysis. It is contraindicated in people with metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is required in those with a history of frequent urinary or genital infections, dehydration, heart failure, or low blood pressure. It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly needed. Regular monitoring of kidney function, blood sugar, and hydration status is advised.
