Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, watery eyes, and congestion. It also reduces airway inflammation and makes breathing easier. It works by blocking a substance that causes allergy in the body.


Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Take it in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on the severity of your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Keep taking the medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back, and your condition may worsen.


The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth, headache, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects.


This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can worsen your sleepiness. How Alpakast LE Tablet works

Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Levocetirizine and Montelukast, which relieve sneezing and a runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms.

  • Do not take more than the recommended amount of Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet or mix it with other cold or antihistamine medicines without first talking to a doctor.
  • Make sure you always have enough Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet on hand so you do not miss any doses and can keep getting treatment.
  • To help reduce symptoms along with Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet, avoid dust, smoke, and known allergens as much as possible.
  • Drink lots of fluids to help thin out mucus and make it easier to breathe.
  • If your symptoms don't go away or get worse, or if you're not sure how much Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet to take, talk to your doctor.
  • Alpakast LE 5mg/10mg Tablet may cause serious mood or behaviour changes, including depression, sleep problems, and suicidal thoughts or behaviour. Stop taking it and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of these symptoms.
