Etoricoxib(90 mg)

Uses

Alock e 90mg tablet is used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, post operative pain and muscular pain.

How it works

Alock e 90mg tablet belongs to a group of medication called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by inhibiting the release of prostaglandins, which are pain causing chemicals specifically at the site of inflammation in the body.

It is not a steroid

Q.Can I take Arcoxia for migraine/headache/toothache?
Arcoxia is the brand name for etoricoxib. It cannot be taken for migraine/headache/toothache

Q.How long can I take Arcoxia?
It is recommended for post-operative dental surgery pain. It should be taken only if prescribed by the doctor. Arcoxia should be taken only as long as the doctor prescribes it

Q.Can I take ibuprofen/ tramadol / naproxen /Panadol (paracetamol)/warfarin /Celebrex (celecoxib)/ aspirin /antibiotics (e.g. rifampicin, streptomycin)/colchicine with etoricoxib?
Etoricoxib should not be taken with other pain-relieving medicines belonging to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) class like ibuprofen/ / naproxen / Panadol (paracetamol)/ /Celebrex (celecoxib)/ aspirin, as it increases the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Etoricoxib should not be taken with blood-thinning medication like warfarin, as it increases the risk of bleeding from areas such as ulcers in the stomach or gut. Etoricoxib may be often prescribed with strong pain-killers like tramadol for severe pain. There is no data showing serious interactions between colchicine, antibiotics (e.g. rifampicin, streptomycin) and etoricoxib. Any drug combination with etoricoxib should be taken only as per instructions from the doctor
