Product introduction

Alcoliv Tablet should be taken with or without food. The dose will depend on what you are being treated for and your body weight. This medicine needs to be taken regularly to get the most benefit and you may have to take it for several months or longer, so try to get into a routine. Keep using it as prescribed even if your symptoms disappear.

The most common side effects are nausea, upset stomach, and diarrhea. Not everyone gets side effects. If you are worried about them, or they do not go away, let your doctor know. If you have problems with diarrhea your doctor may reduce the dose or stop the treatment. Drink enough water or fluids to stay hydrated in case of severe diarrhea.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Using this medicine can reduce or increase the effect of some other medicines, so tell your doctor about all the other medicines you are taking.

Taking Alcoliv with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Altretamine (Oral Route)

Do not consume Altretamine with Metadoxine. Metadoxine may reduce the efficacy of Altretamine.
Moderate

Phenytoin (Oral Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.Doctor may monitor your liver function. Metadoxine may raise blood levels of Phenytoin.
Moderate

Phenytoin (Injection Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.Doctor may monitor your liver function. Metadoxine may raise blood levels of Phenytoin.

Levodopa (Oral Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms. Metadoxine may slow down the removal of Levodopa from the body.
