The area of the elbow includes the bones of the forearm, upper arm, and elbow joint. In X - Ray Right Elbow Joint AP & LAT Views, X-rays pass from the front to the back of the patient. The lateral view is taken from the patient’s side. This detects fractures, dislocations surrounding the elbow joint. An X-ray uses radiation to create a picture of the area. A radiologist will assess the images and send a report.
It diagnoses any fractured bones of the elbow joint, infections, osteoporosis, and arthritis.
A plain X-ray usually takes 15 minutes. The actual exposure time to radiation is usually less than a second, so it is a safe and painless technique.

X-ray images give a very clear view of the bones. However, it does not provide a good visual image of the soft tissues like tendons, muscles or fat tissue under the skin. Even the bone microfractures or complicated spine injuries are not clearly visible on the X Ray images. Apart from this, it also exposes the patient to some amount of radiations but the benefit of the information gained from an X-ray image outweighs the risk of radiations.
