Thrombophilia Gene Panel

The Thrombophilia Gene Panel is a blood test tailored to assess genetic predispositions to conditions that increase the risk of abnormal blood clotting. Thrombophilia refers to a range of disorders that elevate the likelihood of clot formation, which can adversely affect pregnancy by disrupting blood flow to the developing fetus and leading to complications such as placental insufficiency and recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL).
Testing for thrombophilia may be recommended for couples experiencing RPL, especially if other potential causes have been ruled out. By identifying specific genetic mutations associated with increased blood clotting risk, doctors can formulate targeted management strategies for thrombophilia-related RPL which may include anticoagulant therapy, close monitoring during pregnancy, and other interventions aimed at reducing the risk of blood clot formation and improving pregnancy outcomes.
For this test, you need to provide your previous obstetric history to your healthcare advisor.
Note: Pre-test & post-test genetic counseling can be provided. If interested please send the request to this email id: [email protected]
