pulmoCORE Panel 8 offers testing of various genes that are associated with non-small cell lung cancer. The panel looks for genetic mutations in EGFR, ALK, and ROS-1 genes. The presence of these specific mutations in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) indicates sensitivity or resistance to certain therapies. Apart from these genes, this panel also uses PD - L1 22C3 which aids in prediction of response to pembrolizumab. Genetic information from this panel can also be useful in early detection of NSCLC if there are risk factors. Early detection of cancer is the most important step in ensuring a favorable prognosis, and timely intervention can reduce the risk of developing cancer.
