PD-L1 Dako 22C3 IHC PharmDx

The PD-L1 Dako 22C3 IHC PharmDx is a crucial tool in the field of oncology, specifically designed to detect the presence of PD-L1 protein in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissue samples. This qualitative immunohistochemical assay utilizes Monoclonal Mouse Anti-PD-L1, Clone 22C3 antibodies and is optimized for use with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections. 

To assess PD-L1 protein expression, the Combined Positive Score (CPS) is calculated. CPS is determined by counting the number of PD-L1 staining cells, including tumor cells, lymphocytes, and macrophages, and dividing this by the total number of viable tumor cells. The result is then multiplied by 100. A CPS of ≥ 1 indicates PD-L1 expression, and this information is vital in determining patient eligibility for first-line therapy with pembrolizumab.
