Understanding NCCT Scan Clavicle
What is NCCT Scan Clavicle?
Non-contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) for clavicle helps to visualize the bones and soft tissues of clavicle, also known as shoulder bone. It is performed to know the cause of sudden, persistent or extreme pain in the shoulder and its surrounding areas. It helps to identify fracture, inflammation or a deformity in the shoulder bone and its surrounding soft tissues.
What is NCCT Scan Clavicle used for?
- • To detect any fractures of the bones of the clavicle (collarbone) not visible on a simple X-ray • To detect the cause of any unexplained pain in the area of the collar bone • To detect any infection, injury or inflammation of the surrounding soft tissues like the muscle and tendons
