MR Neurography (MR)

MR Neurography or Magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) is a non-invasive imaging technique used for the assessment of peripheral nerves. A type of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), MRN gives a clear and detailed 3D image of the nerves, helping in the detection of nerve injuries and lesions. The common symptoms of nerve damage include numbness in the hands and feet, muscle weakness in arms/legs, dropping of objects regularly, sharp pains in hands, legs and feet or buzzing/mild shock-like sensation. The radiologist assesses the scan and sends a report.

It is a safe, painless, radiation-less test. It usually takes about 30-40 minutes to perform. Pregnant women should inform the doctor before getting the scan.
