MR Neck Angio with Contrast

The MR Neck Angio with Contrast is an advanced imaging test that uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) along with a contrast dye to capture detailed images of the blood vessels in the neck. The contrast material helps highlight the arteries and veins clearly, making it easier to detect any blockages, narrowing, aneurysms, or abnormalities in blood flow.

This scan is often recommended if you have symptoms like dizziness, vision problems, frequent headaches, or a history of stroke or mini-stroke (TIA). It helps doctors evaluate conditions related to carotid artery disease, vascular malformations, or tumors affecting neck blood supply.

The procedure is noninvasive and painless. A contrast dye (usually gadolinium) is injected into a vein before or during the scan to enhance image clarity. You’ll need to lie still inside the MRI scanner while the images are taken. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, have kidney problems, or have metal implants, as precautions may be required before the test.
