JEV (Japnese Encephalitis Virus) RNA Detection by RT-PCR-serum

JEV (Japnese Encephalitis Virus) RNA Detection by RT-PCR-serum is a molecular test that detects the presence of Japanese encephalitis virus RNA in serum and is performed to diagnose and monitor Japanese encephalitis, a viral infection transmitted by mosquitoes that can cause severe neurological complications. This test is also done to distinguish Japanese encephalitis from other encephalitides caused by viruses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika. JEV (Japnese Encephalitis Virus) RNA Detection by RT-PCR-serum is recommended for patients with suspected Japanese encephalitis, especially if they live in or have recently visited endemic areas. Pregnant women and immunocompromised patients are at higher risk. Detection of JEV RNA in the serum helps in the early identification of the virus and allows for appropriate management and treatment of the infection.
