CECT Scan Upper Abdomen
CECT upper abdomen is a contrast-enhanced CT scan of the upper abdomen. CECT upper abdomen is primarily used to create an image of your stomach with improved visualisation. It is an imaging test commonly used to diagnose abdominal conditions and keep up with post-treatment recovery. The procedure is common to normal CT scans with the additional contrast dye you will have to take orally or via IV. While CT scans are usually safe and reliable, CE procedures require certain precautions like informing your doctor about your medical history and drinking plenty of water after the scan. This procedure is extremely handy in providing a visual aid for placing needles during biopsies. It is more expensive than conventional CT scans due to the use of contrast dye.
