3D-CT Scan Right Ankle Joint

3D Computed Tomography (CT) right ankle is an imaging technique used to get details about the insides of your right ankle. A CT scan combines computer technology with a rotating doughnut-shaped X-ray machine to get cross-sectional images of your body. Doctors use these images to get information about bones, soft tissues, muscles, etc. A doctor may recommend this test to diagnose any abnormalities in the right ankle like an ankle sprain, ankle fracture, arthritis, tumors, etc. Sometimes, a contrast material like Iodine will be administered to the patient to get clearer images.
CT scans are generally not preferred for pregnant women owing to the radiation threat to the baby. Rarely some individuals may develop allergic reactions due to the contrast material.
