Do not give this medicine to your child in case of cold and flu symptoms. Such symptoms are almost always a result of viral infections, and antibiotics are ineffective in killing viruses. These may include middle ear infections, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, skin and soft infections, abdominal infections, and urinary tract infections. This medicine works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing bacteria by stopping it from multiplying. As a result, the infection starts clearing within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. However, continue giving the medicine as prescribed by the doctor because stopping the medicine abruptly may worsen your child’s condition or bring back the infection.

Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)]. Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one.
