Zyfor 300mg tablet er is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract including nose, ears, lungs, tonsils. It is also used to treat kidney and bladder infections, prostate infections and various skin infections.

How it works

Zyfor 300mg tablet er belongs to a group of medicines called carbapenem beta-lactam antibiotics. It kills bacteria by inhibiting the bacterial cell wall (outer coating of bacteria) formation. As a result, the bacterial cell wall is weakened and ruptures, thereby killing the bacteria.

Faropenem tablet should be used with caution in patients with poor oral intake or poor general state because of vitamin K deficiency and elderly people. Do not start or continue the faropenem and consult your doctor:
  • If you have a family history of allergy (atopy) or severe allergic reaction (hypersensitivity) to penicillin,cephalosporin or carbapenem drugs.
  • If you have kidney problem.
