Introduction of Tobramycin

Zobra F Eye Drops is a prescription medicine having a combination of medicines that is used to treat bacterial infections. It stops the growth of bacteria and helps in relieving redness, itching and swelling.

Zobra F Eye Drops may also be used in hospitalized patients to prevent infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is given as a drip (intravenous infusion) or as an injection directly into a vein or a muscle under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Your doctor may shift you to another antibiotic after culture reports become available. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.

This medicine may lead to nausea or vomiting, headache, and dizziness as side effects. Rarely, some patients may develop balance disorder (loss of balance), kidney damage and hearing loss. Therefore, please follow all the instructions given by your doctor while using this medicine. Your doctor may monitor you with regular kidney function tests, hearing tests and urine tests during treatment. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects bother you or if your condition does not improve.
This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.

Zobra F Eye Drops is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using it and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in. Refrain touching the tip of the dropper to any surface to avoid contaminating the eye drop. You should not discontinue using the medicine unless your doctor tells you so. Stopping the medication before time may allow the bacteria to continue their growth, which may result in return of the infection.

Using Zobra F Eye Drops may cause burning sensation, irritation, or blur the vision temporarily. In most cases, it usually resolve quickly. However, if the irritation persists or worsens, contact your doctor.

Tobramycin

Fluorometholone

  • Your doctor has prescribed Fluorometholone to treat redness and swelling (inflammation) of the eye. 
  • Do not use Fluorometholone for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection.
  • Do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contaminating the eye drops.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before putting in these eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting your lenses back in.
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
