Xeomin 100mcg Injection is used in the treatment of localized muscle spasm. It relieves wry neck (spasmodic torticollis) in adults, involuntary closure of eyelids (blepharospasm), and foot deformity due to spasticity in children with cerebral palsy. It may also be prescribed for chronic migraines.

Treatment of Localized muscle spasm
Xeomin 100mcg Injection is used in adults to treat muscle spasms around the eyes, in the face, neck, arm, shoulders, and leg. It is also used in children with cerebral palsy (aged two years or older), to treat muscle spasms in the legs, to improve their walking. It also effectively relieves muscle spasms in the arms of the affected children. It stops the abnormal muscle contractions called spasms by stopping the release of a chemical which acts between the nerves and muscles that causes muscle contraction. This helps to reduce the spasms and provides relief. In this way, it improves the quality of life. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered.

Xeomin 100mcg Injection is a protein made by a type of bacteria (Clostridium botulinum type A). It works by blocking the release of a chemical (acetylcholine) which normally cause the muscle to contract. This temporarily weakens nerve activity in the muscles and helps reduce abnormal muscle contractions.
