Ventirex-C Syrup is a combination medicine used in the treatment of cough with mucus. It thins mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out. It also relieves allergic symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing and also relieves minor throat irritation.

Ventirex-C Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, dryness in mouth, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, vomiting, fatigue, headache, and rash. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make sleepiness worse.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

In Cough with mucus

Ventirex-C Syrup gives relief from cough with mucus. It helps to loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. This makes breathing easy and reduces the frequency of coughing. Ventirex-C Syrup also relieves allergy symptoms like itchy or watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Apart from this, it produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation. Ventirex-C Syrup usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Along with medications, drink enough luke warm water and gargle with warm salt water to ease the symptoms.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

What if you forget to take Ventirex-C Syrup?

If you miss a dose of Ventirex-C Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Ventirex-C Syrup is prescribed to get relief from cough with mucus.
  • Drink warm water to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.

  • If you are drowsy after taking Ventirex-C Syrup, you should not drive or operate any machinery.

  • Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants.

For cough, cold -- Prevent dehydration. Fluids may help thin secretions and soothe an irritated throat. Dry, hacking coughs respond to honey in hot water, tea, or lemon juice. Drink plenty of fluids to replace those lost from sweating and having a runny nose, get plenty of rest, eat healthily ? a low-fat, high-fibre diet is recommended, including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. OTC drugs, gargling with salt water and sucking on menthol sweets can help relieve a sore throat and blocked nose, are generally safe for older children and adults to take, but might not be suitable for babies, young children. Avoid applying Vicks VapoRub to babies and toddlers.You should never give children under 4 years of age over-the-counter cough and cold products without checking with your child's doctor. These medicines may harm young children. There are many underlying causes of cough and cold. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Final and perfect diagnosis cannot be done without doing clinical examination of patient. Please consult me or any other Paediatrician. will take detail history and will examine patient in detail. All information will be used to determine exact underlying cause of problem. Depending upon cause will prescribe you specific treatment. Advice given without doing clinical examination can be imperfect or some time harmful to patient.
