Frequently asked questions

Varcolate-Neo Injection is usually given at the end of certain surgical procedures to reverse the effects of medicines that temporarily relax the muscles during anesthesia. This helps restore normal muscle movement, improves breathing strength, and allows the body to recover more smoothly after surgery.
Varcolate-Neo Injection contains two medicines that work together. Neostigmine helps restore muscle function by reversing the effects of muscle-relaxing medicines used during surgery. Glycopyrrolate helps reduce unwanted effects of Neostigmine, such as excessive saliva production and a slow heart rate. Together, they help support a safer recovery from the effcets of anesthesia.
During many operations, muscle-relaxing medicines are used to make surgery easier and safer. However, these medicines can continue affecting the muscles even after the procedure is over. Varcolate-Neo Injection helps reverse these effects so that you can breathe, swallow, and move your muscles normally again.
Varcolate-Neo Injection usually starts working within a few minutes after administration. Many individuals begin to regain muscle strength soon after receiving it. Your anesthesiologist will carefully monitor your recovery to ensure the effects of the muscle relaxant have been adequately reversed.
Your medical team will monitor your breathing, oxygen levels, muscle strength, and ability to move certain muscles. They may ask you to perform simple movements or assess your breathing pattern to confirm that normal muscle function is returning.
It is common to feel tired or weak for some time after surgery. While Varcolate-Neo Injection helps reverse muscle relaxation caused by anesthesia, other factors such as the surgery itself, anesthesia medicines, pain medicines, and lack of sleep can also contribute to temporary weakness.
Dry mouth is a common effect of Glycopyrrolate. This medicine reduces saliva production to counter some of the effects of Neostigmine. The dryness is usually temporary and improves as the medicine wears off. Once permitted by your doctor, drinking fluids may help relieve the discomfort.
Yes. Both the anesthesia process and the medicines used during recovery can influence heart rate. Glycopyrrolate is included to help prevent the slowing of the heart rate that may occur with Neostigmine. Your heart rate will be closely monitored while you recover.
Some individuals may experience nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, or mild digestive discomfort after receiving Varcolate-Neo Injection. However, these symptoms can also occur as part of the normal recovery process after surgery and anesthesia. Inform your doctor if the symptoms become severe or persistent.
Some individuals may notice sweating, warmth, or flushing after receiving medicines used during anesthesia recovery. These effects are usually temporary and often improve as your body recovers from both the surgery and the anesthesia.
Glycopyrrolate in Varcolate-Neo Injection may occasionally cause temporary vision changes such as blurred vision or increased sensitivity to bright light. These effects are usually short-lived. If vision problems are severe or do not improve, inform your doctor promptly.
No. Varcolate-Neo Injection is used in controlled medical settings such as operating rooms and recovery areas. It requires monitoring by trained healthcare professionals to ensure that muscle function, breathing, and heart rate return to normal safely.
Tell your doctor immediately if you experience severe breathing difficulties, persistent muscle weakness, chest pain, a very fast or irregular heartbeat, severe dizziness, or signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, or throat. These symptoms require prompt medical attention.
Most individuals gradually regain normal muscle strength and breathing ability as the effects of anesthesia wear off. You may continue to feel sleepy, tired, or slightly weak for several hours after surgery. Your healthcare team will monitor you closely and ensure that recovery is progressing safely before discharge from the recovery area.
