Product introduction

It can be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time each day. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But never take a double dose to make up for the missed one. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. However, inform doctor if you are suffering from any lung, liver, or kidney disease before you start taking this medicine.

Nausea, stomach upset, insomnia, and high blood pressure may occur as side effects of this medicine. It may also cause dizziness as a side effect, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may worsen your side effects.

Note: As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Tritus Plus Suspension should not be used in children below four years of age.

How Tritus Plus Suspension works

Tritus Plus Suspension is a combination of four medicines: Phenylpropanolamine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and Paracetamol which relieve common cold symptoms. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) which also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever.

Quick tips

Tritus Plus Suspension is prescribed to get relief from symptoms of common cold as well as fever.
Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended.
Call your doctor if your symptoms have not improved within seven days of treatment.
Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications for cold.
Along with taking Tritus Plus Suspension do the following simple tips at home to get relief:
1. Steam inhalation.
2. Gargling with warm saltwater.
3. Apply vapor rubs on chest, back if needed. Take enough rest.
4. Take warm food and fluid only. Ensure adequate fluid intake.
5. Advise hygiene measures to reduce spread: frequent hand-washing, avoiding sharing towels, pillowcases, etc.
