Uses

Dicyclomine is used in the treatment of abdominal pain and irritable bowel syndrome.

How it works

Dicyclomine belongs to antispasmodic and anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) class of medicines that act by relieving the smooth muscle tightening (contraction) of the gastrointestinal tract via dual action: (i) by a specific action (anticholinergic), which reduces muscle contractions and (ii) by a direct effect on muscles of the stomach and intestine (musculotropic) leading to muscle relaxations, and decrease in contraction and pain.

Paracetamol is used in the treatment of headache, joint pain, dental pain, nerve pain, muscular pain, menstrual pain, migraine and fever.

How it works

Paracetamol belongs to class of medications called analgesics (painkiller) and antipyretics (fever reducing). Paracetamol reduces pain by increasing the pain threshold. It reduces fever by acting on the temperature-regulating region of brain, resulting in increased blood flow across the skin, sweating and heat loss.
