Tridex B Syrup


Overview

Introduction

Tridex B Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough. It thins and loosens mucus (sticky substance) in the nose, windpipe making it easier to cough out and It narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.

Tridex B Syrup also reduces the activity of cough center in the brain. It may be taken with or without food. Take it in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. If you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney disease, inform your doctor before you start taking this medicine.

Tridex B Syrup may cause side effects like rash, nausea, bloating, high blood pressure, insomnia, diarrhea, stomach upset, indigestion, irritation in ear, and headache. You may also experience dizziness after taking it, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus.

How to use Tridex B Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Tridex B Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Tridex B Syrup works

Tridex B Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Phenylpropanolamine, Bromhexine and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.

Driving

Mam, My wife is suffering in dry cough problem since 10 days and finally she has been admitted in the Hospital 3days before.She has been given antibiotics with Nebulizer and cough syrup.All medicines are coming under B category except the cough syrup (Levodroprozine syrup) which is coming under D category. She is having 6 weeks pregnancy.I am very much worrying that the medicines will harm my unborn baby or not.I have stopped the syrup but she already taken of 30 ml dose in last two days. Hi PATIENT medicines do cause problems in baby. However category B medicines can be taken in pregnancy with some caution. Just 2 doses should not cause much harm but I suggest you avoid all such medicines from now till atleast 11 weeks pregnancy during which time the baby's organs are being developed.
