How Tobrasone Eye Drop works

Tobrasone Eye Drop is a combination of two medicines: Tobramycin and Fluorometholone. Tobramycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Fluorometholone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

Quick tips

  • Always wash your hands before and after applying Tobrasone Eye Drop to avoid introducing bacteria into the eye.
  • Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and apply the medicine without letting the tip touch your eye.
  • Keep your eyes closed for 1 to 2 minutes after use to help the medicine stay in place and work better.
  • Wait at least 10 minutes before using any other eye products to prevent one from affecting how the other works.
  • Complete the full course as advised, even if your eye feels better, to fully clear the infection and inflammation.
