How Tinimix Syrup works

Tinimix 100mg/100mg Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics: Norfloxacin and Tinidazole. Norfloxacin works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. Tinidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Together, they treat your infection effectively.

Pregnancy

The use of Tinimix is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to norfloxacin or tinidazole or any other excipient present in the medicine. It should preferably be avoided in patients with a history of tendinitis (inflammation of the tendons) or tendon rupture caused because of the use of ciprofloxacin or any other medicine which belongs to the quinolone group of antimicrobial agents. It is also avoided in patients with some neurological disorders.

No, avoid drinking alcohol while taking Tinimix and for at least 3 days after the dosage is completed. Drinking alcohol while taking this medicine may cause an unpleasant reaction (Disulfuram like reaction) with symptoms such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, flushing or redness of the face.
