Product introduction

Thrombophob Gel is an anticoagulant that prevents blood clotting. It is applied to the skin for the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of a vein caused by a blood clot), bruises, and varicose veins. It speeds up the formation of blood clots and decreases pain and swelling.

Use Thrombophob Gel as advised by your doctor. This medicine is meant for external use only. It should be applied only to the affected area of the skin as per the dosage and schedule prescribed by your doctor. To get the most benefit, apply it regularly. Do not use larger amounts, apply it more often, or use it for a longer duration than directed. This will only increase the risk of side effects.

Local side effects, such as rashes, may occur after application. This is usually temporary and resolves quickly. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the medicine in these areas. Consult your doctor if you experience any symptoms that bother you or if your condition does not improve.

Do not use Thrombophob Gel if you are allergic to heparin or any of its ingredients. Use with caution in conditions such as hemorrhagic edema, as close monitoring may be required. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should let their doctor know to make sure it is safe for them.

Uses of Thrombophob Jelly

  • Prevention of Blood clots

Benefits of Thrombophob Jelly

Prevention of Blood clots
Formation of blood clots blocks one or more veins, usually in your legs. Thrombophob Gel is used to prevent formation of blood clots near the surface of your skin. It dissolves the clots and also relieves pain and inflammation by increasing the blood flow. This improves the overall healing process.
Use it as advised by the doctor to get maximum benefit. The condition usually improves on its own in sometime. However, your doctor might recommend applying heat to the painful area, elevating the affected leg, using an over-the-counter painkiller and possibly wearing compression stockings.

Side effects of Thrombophob Jelly

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Thrombophob Jelly

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and gently massage the jelly. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Thrombophob Jelly works

Thrombophob Gel is an anticoagulant. It penetrates into the diseased tissue immediately upon application without leaving residues or degreasing the skin. This helps in strengthening and supporting the connective tissues, thus alleviating pain and speeding up healing.

Dosage

The dose of Thrombophob Gel depends on the condition being treated, the area affected, and your response to treatment. It is usually applied to the affected area two or three times a day, or as advised by your doctor. Your doctor will decide how much to apply and how long you should continue treatment.

Use Thrombophob Gel exactly as directed and do not apply it more often or for longer than recommended. Do not apply it to open wounds, damaged skin, or sensitive areas unless your doctor tells you to do so. If irritation develops or your symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Thrombophob Gel, please consult your doctor.

Frequently asked questions

Thrombophob Gel is a medicated gel that contains heparin, a substance that belongs to a group of medicines called anticoagulants. These medicines help prevent blood clots from forming. When applied to the skin, Thrombophob Gel works locally at the affected area. It helps reduce inflammation and swelling linked to superficial vein conditions. By acting at the site of application, it supports the natural healing process in areas affected by clot-related vein inflammation.
It is important to use Thrombophob Gel exactly as advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Even if your symptoms begin to improve, you should not stop treatment without medical advice. The length of treatment depends on the type and severity of your condition. If your symptoms do not improve or become worse, speak to your healthcare professional for further guidance.
Thrombophob Gel should only be applied to intact, unbroken skin. It should not be used on open wounds, cuts, infected areas, or damaged skin. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and other mucous membranes. Wash your hands after applying the gel, unless your hands are the area being treated. If you have a bleeding disorder or notice any unusual skin reactions, such as irritation or rash, stop using the gel and seek medical advice.
Thrombophob Gel is used to relieve symptoms associated with superficial thrombophlebitis and related vein conditions. Its active ingredient, heparin, acts locally to help reduce inflammation and support clot management at the site of application. The response to treatment can vary from person to person, and it should be used as directed by a healthcare professional.
Since Thrombophob Gel contains heparin, which affects blood clotting, caution is advised in people with bleeding disorders. However, when applied to the skin as directed, it works locally, and the risk of bleeding is generally low. If you notice any unusual bruising or bleeding, contact your doctor promptly.
Before using Thrombophob Gel, inform your doctor if you are taking medicines that affect blood clotting, such as oral anticoagulants. Even though the gel is applied to the skin, your healthcare provider must be aware of all medicines you are using. This helps ensure safe and appropriate treatment.
The time it takes to notice improvement can vary depending on the severity of your condition. Relief may be felt as swelling and discomfort gradually reduce. If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or worsen, you should consult your doctor.
No, Thrombophob Gel should not be applied to open wounds, cuts, infected skin, or damaged areas. It is meant for use only on intact skin. Applying it to broken skin may increase the risk of irritation or other unwanted effects.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before using Thrombophob Gel. It should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary and under medical advice.
If you are taking oral anticoagulants or other blood-thinning medicines, inform your doctor before using Thrombophob Gel. Although it works locally on the skin, your doctor will decide whether it is appropriate for you based on your overall treatment plan.
Thrombophob Gel is used for superficial vein conditions, including inflammation of veins associated with clot formation. It may help relieve related symptoms such as swelling and discomfort. However, it does not remove or cure varicose veins. A doctor can guide you on suitable treatment options for varicose veins.
Thrombophob Gel is indicated for conditions related to superficial vein inflammation and clot-associated symptoms. It is not specifically indicated for general muscle pain. If you are experiencing muscle discomfort, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for appropriate advice.
Common warning signs of a blood clot may include swelling in one limb, pain or tenderness in the affected area, redness or skin discoloration, warmth over the area, and sudden shortness of breath or chest pain. These symptoms can indicate a serious medical condition. Immediate medical attention is important if such symptoms occur.
