Spacid 10mg/10mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, headache, dryness in mouth, blurred vision, and nervousness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your drowsiness.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.

How Spacid Tablet works

Spacid 10mg/10mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines:

You will be prescribed Spacid 10mg/10mg Tablet to get relief from abdominal pain due to acidity.
It is best to take Spacid 10mg/10mg Tablet when the first sign of pain occurs.
Drink 6 to 8 full glasses of water daily to help prevent constipation while you are taking this medicine. Do not use a stool softener (laxative) without first asking your doctor.
Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Spacid 10mg/10mg Tablet.
Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent acidity:
1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
3. Lose weight if you are obese.
4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for sometime for better digestion.
