- Apply a thin layer of this medicine all over the body and leave it for 8-14 hours before taking a bath or shower.
- Avoid getting it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If this happens, rinse with water immediately.
- You will still be itchy for a while after successful treatment. If the itching becomes troublesome to you, consult your doctor to ease this. Moisturizing creams can provide temporary relief from itching.
- Clothes, towels, and bed linen should be machine-washed with hot water after the first application of treatment. This helps kills the scabies mites.

Scabex is used to treat scabies (a skin infestation by mites) and head lice. Lindane in Scabex acts as an insecticide, paralyzing and killing mites and lice (and their eggs), while cetrimide in Scabex is an antiseptic that soothes the skin and helps prevent secondary infections.
Individuals should not use Scabex if they are allergic to any component of this medicine, are premature infants, neonates, or people with uncontrolled seizures. It is also contraindicated in patients with severely damaged skin, crusted scabies (a severe form of scabies), or severe skin diseases such as eczema or psoriasis.
Apply Scabex only to the affected skin or scalp, as directed by your doctor. Avoid using it on the face, eyes, mucous membranes, broken skin, or large areas. Typically, it is left on for 8 to 12 hours before being washed off thoroughly. Do not cover treated areas with tight or dark clothing, and wash your hands thoroughly after application.
The exact time Scabex begins to show benefits is not known. However, you may expect improvement in symptoms within a few days of regular use. Full benefits may take longer, depending on the severity of the condition.
