Salitone 12% Ointment works by helping the outer layer of the skin shed more easily. This softens thickened skin, loosens scales, and allows healthier skin to form underneath, improving the appearance and comfort of affected areas. 

Apply Salitone 12% Ointment only to the affected skin, usually after washing and gently hydrating the area. Use it in the dose and duration prescribed by the doctor. Applying more than needed will not speed up results. Avoid covering the treated area tightly unless specifically advised, as this can increase absorption.

There is limited data on the common side effects of this medicine. You may experience erythema (redness) and scaling if applied to open skin lesions. If severe redness, burning, or discomfort develops, stop the treatment and consult your doctor for advice.

Salitone 12% Ointment is for external use only and should not be applied to the eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes. It should not be used on broken or infected skin unless advised by a doctor. Do not use for long-term, especially in children or people with kidney or liver problems, as that may lead to unwanted absorption and side effects. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before using this medicine.

• Apply Salitone 12% Ointment only to the affected areas of thickened or scaly skin, and avoid spreading it onto normal skin to reduce irritation.
• Wash and gently hydrate the skin before application, as slightly moist skin helps the medicine work better.
• Use only the amount needed to cover the affected area; applying more will not speed up results and may increase side effects.
• Avoid covering the treated area with tight bandages or occlusive dressings unless your doctor specifically advises it, as this can increase absorption.
• Wash your hands after applying the product, unless your hands are the area being treated.
• If excessive dryness, redness, or peeling occurs, reduce the frequency of application or use a bland moisturiser to soothe the skin.
