Rexidin Gel is used to treat skin infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria. It kills and stops the growth of infection causing microorganisms, thereby clearing the infection and relieving the symptoms. It also blocks the release of chemicals that cause symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling. Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections. You should use Rexidin Gel for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back.

Treatment of Mouth infection
Whenever there is an overgrowth of microorganisms in our mouth, that are otherwise normally present, it can lead to unpleasant symptoms suggestive of mouth infection. For maximum effectiveness avoid rinsing mouth (with water or any other mouthwash), brushing teeth, eating or drinking for 30 minutes after using the Rexidin Gel.
Rexidin Gel may cause permanent discolouration of some tooth fillings. To minimize discolouration, brush and floss daily, focussing on the areas which begin to discolour.
Do not mix/dilute Rexidin Gel with any other product.
Avoid contact with eyes and ears. If the solution comes in contact with your eyes, rinse well with water.
Notify your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Yes, Rexidin Gel is effective in reducing bad breath, which persists for about 3 hours. However, the risk of staining teeth and alteration of taste should be borne in mind before you start using it. Also, use this medicine judiciously.

How should Rexidin Gel be used?

It should be used as required. It is generally used twice daily. Rinse the mouth thoroughly for about 1 minute with 10 ml of Rexidin Gel mouthwash. After rinsing, expel it from your mouth.

Using toothpastes immediately after the mouthwash may interfere with the working of mouthwash properly. Use it before the mouthwash or at a different time of the day. Always rinse your mouth before using the mouthwash.
