How to use Pregron Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pregron Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Pregron Tablet works

Pregron Tablet is a combination of three medicines: doxylamine, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and folic acid, which treats nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. Doxylamine is an antihistamine which works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby controlling nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a form of vitamin B which possesses anti-nausea properties. Folic is also a form of vitamin B which provides essential nutrients.

CAUTION
Pregron Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
SAFE
Pregron Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy.
Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.
Lactation
Pregron Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or prolonged use of Pregron Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Driving
Pregron Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Pregron Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Pregron Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Pregron Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Pregron Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it at as mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Pregron can cause increased side effects. If you are experiencing increased severity of nausea or vomiting, which is not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.

Q. Can the use of Pregron cause drowsiness or sleepiness?

Yes, one of the common side effects of Pregron is drowsiness. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or engage in other activities that need your full attention. Do not drink alcohol or take any medicines that may depress the central nervous system like cough and cold medicines, certain pain medicines, and medicines that help you sleep, while you are taking Pregron. Severe drowsiness can happen or it can become worse and cause falls or accidents.

Q. Can I breastfeed while taking Pregron?

No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Pregron. This medicine can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if you are advised to take this medicine.

Yes, the use of Pregron can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. Try to avoid foods that are acidic (like lemons), spicy and salty.
