Cefalexin(250 mg)


Cephalexin is used to treat bacterial infections including upper respiratory infections, ear infections, skin infections, and urinary tract infections.

How it works

Cephalexin belongs to group of medicines called cephalosporin antibiotics. It kills the bacteria by interrupting the bacterial cell wall (outer coating of bacteria) formation. As a result, the bacterial cell wall is weakened and ruptures, thereby killing the bacteria.

• Do not start or continue the cephalexin capsules and consult your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to cephalexin, other cephalosporins (similar antibiotics), or penicillin group of antibiotics. An allergic reaction may include rash, itching, difficulty in breathing or swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue
• Do not start or continue the cephalexin capsules and consult your doctor if you experience diarrhea; symptoms include pain, fever and inflammation of the large intestine
