Paedisone 0.05% Cream is used in the treatment of skin disorders. These skin disorders include eczema, dermatitis, nappy rash or insect bites.

How to use Paedisone Cream

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

How Paedisone Cream works

Paedisone 0.05% Cream is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.

Paedisone 0.05% Cream may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Paedisone 0.05% Cream is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
The baby's skin should not come into direct contact with the treated area of skin. Water-miscible cream/gel is preferred as ointments may expose the baby to harmful effects of Paedisone 0.05% Cream via licking.

  • It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
  • Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
