Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension stops the growth of infectious bacteria and helps treat infections caused by bacteria. Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension also contains beneficial bacteria that protect the inner layers of your stomach and intestines. This medicine can relieve frequent loose motions, that may occur as a side effect of this medicine, and also prevents them from coming back. It usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant. Drink plenty of fluids while taking it to make sure you stay hydrated.

How Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension works
Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension is a combination of three medicines : Ofloxacin, Metronidazole, and Lactic acid bacillus. Ofloxacin and Metronidazole are both antibiotics that work in different ways. Ofloxacin works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them. Metronidazole kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Lactic acid bacillus is a probiotic. It works by restoring the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset after antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively.

- Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Norfagyl Plus Oral Suspension.
- It can reduce the effectiveness of the oral typhoid vaccine. If you are due to have any vaccinations, make sure the person treating you knows that you are taking this antibiotic.

- If you are taking any contraceptive 'pill' at the same time as this antibiotic, the effectiveness of the 'pill' can be reduced if you have a bout of being sick (vomiting) which lasts for more than 24 hours. In such a case, ask your doctor for additional contraceptive measures.
