Product introduction

Mudot Injection is an antidote medication. It is used in the treatment of paracetamol overdose (when you may have taken too much paracetamol medicine). It protects your liver and helps to reduce the extent of the injury.

Mudot Injection is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor. It must be injected within 8 hours of paracetamol overdose. It can be given up to 24 hours, but medicine effective slow down when given after 24 hours of dosage overdose. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Always follow your doctor's advice while taking this medicine.

The most common side effects of this medicine include rash, urticaria, flushing, and itching. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them.

Before taking this medicine let your doctor know if you suffer from asthma, as close monitoring is required while taking this medicine. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

Mudot Injection is an antidote medicine that prevents serious side effects if a person has taken more than the normal or recommended amount of a medicine called paracetamol which leads to an overdose. Initially, there may be mild gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, irritability, etc. But, if left untreated, paracetamol overdose may cause serious liver damage, which may even lead to liver failure. Rarely, an excessive overdose may lead to a coma. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse and should not be self-administered. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully to get the most benefit from this medication.

What if you forget to take Mudot Injection?

If you miss a dose of Mudot Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Yes, Mudot Injection by acting through various mechanism prevents the rise of blood pressure and maintains the normal functioning of the body. Unopened vials of Mudot Injection should be stored at room temperature. Once the medicine is opened and diluted it should be used within 3 hours as per the directions of the physician. It should not be stored above 25ºC. Once opened, the vials should be stored in refrigeration and if unused then should be discarded after 96 hours.
