Mucoresp-CZ Syrup is a combination medicine used in the treatment of cough. It relieves allergic symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, and congestion or stiffness. It also thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough out.

Mucoresp-CZ Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are stomach upset, dryness in mouth, fatigue, sedation, and allergic reaction. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can make dizziness worse.

Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney and liver diseases. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

This makes it easier for air to move in and out. It will also relieve allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or throat irritation and help you carry out your daily activities more easily.
This medicine is safe and effective. It usually starts to work within a few minutes and the effects can last up to several hours. Take it as prescribed by the doctor. Do not stop using it unless you are advised to by your doctor. Taking this medicine enables you to live your life more freely without worrying so much about things that set off your symptoms.

Mucoresp-CZ Syrup is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving

Mucoresp-CZ Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney

CAUTION

Mucoresp-CZ Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

Liver

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Mucoresp-CZ Syrup is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.

What if you forget to take Mucoresp-CZ Syrup?

If you miss a dose of Mucoresp-CZ Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

No, avoid drinking alcohol while taking Mucoresp-CZ Syrup. Drinking alcohol will increase the severity of drowsiness/sleepiness caused by Mucoresp-CZ Syrup.

Can I breastfeed while taking Mucoresp-CZ Syrup?

No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Mucoresp-CZ Syrup. This medicine contains Cetirizine, an antihistamine, which can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if you are advised to take this medicine.

Can the use of Mucoresp-CZ Syrup cause sleepiness or drowsiness?

Yes, Mucoresp-CZ Syrup may make you feel drowsy or sleepy. Do not drive car, operate machinery, work at heights or participate in potentially dangerous activities until you know how the medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such episodes while you are taking this medicine.

Will Mucoresp-CZ Syrup be more effective if taken in more than recommended dose?

No, taking a higher than the recommended dose may not be more effective, rather it may increase the chances of having serious side effects and toxicity. If the recommended dosage does not relieve your symptoms or there is an increased severity of your symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Yes, the use of Mucoresp-CZ Syrup can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night.
