Overview

Introduction

Moisol Eye Drop is an eye lubricant or artificial tears used to relieve dry eyes. This can happen because not enough tears are made to keep the eye lubricated. It helps to soothe the irritation and burning seen in dry eyes by maintaining proper lubrication of the eyes.

Moisol Eye Drop is usually taken when needed. Use the number of drops as advised by your doctor. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering any other medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Do not use a bottle if the seal is broken before you open it. Always wash your hands and do not touch the end of the dropper. This could infect your eye. This medicine may require long-term use and can be taken safely for as long as you need it.

The most common side effects of using this medicine are blurred or altered vision, and sometimes pain in the eye. Let your doctor know if you experience these symptoms but they are usually temporary. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you can do it safely. Consult your doctor if your condition does not improve or if the side effects bother you.

This medicine is not likely to affect or be affected by other medicines you use but tell your doctor if you have ever had glaucoma. Do not use it while wearing soft contact lenses and talk to your doctor if you develop an eye infection while using it.

How to cope with side effects?

The occurrence of side effects varies from person to person. The following are a few ways of dealing with some of the common side effects. However, consult your doctor if these persist.

  • Coping with Blurred vision
You can consider washing your eyes with water. Avoid driving or using tools or machines if your vision is impaired. Do not take your next dose if your vision is still blurry. If it gets worse or does not improve, ask your doctor to recommend eye drops or talk about changing your medications.
  • Coping with Eye irritation
Try placing a warm or cold pack over your closed eyes. Putting a chilled black tea bag over your eyes may also help. Remove eye and face make-up before going to bed and wash your face and eyes regularly. Rinse your eyelids gently and pat dry with a clean, dry towel. Do not rub your eyes. Raise your head at night to reduce fluid retention. If your condition does not improve, talk to your doctor. There may be medicines available depending on the cause of the inflammation.
  • Coping with Eye pain
Make sure you are using the correct amount of this medicine. Do not use too much and do not use it too often. If the symptoms are bad, there may be an alternative medicine, so talk to your doctor. Do not use other eye drops to ease the discomfort without talking to your doctor. To relieve discomfort, try placing a cold compress over your closed eyes few times a day. Try not to touch or rub your eyes. Wear sunglasses when you are outside. Drink enough water to stay hydrated. Do not keep looking at your phone, computer or television screen for long hours.
