Micogent Lotion is a combination medicine used in the treatment of skin infections. It works by stopping the growth of microorganisms that cause the infection.
Micogent Lotion is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. You should normally wash and dry the affected area before applying a thin layer of the medicine. Avoid any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth. Rinse it off with plenty of water in case of accidental contact. Avoid covering the treated area with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor.
Using of the medicine may cause burning sensation, irritation, redness, and swelling at the site of application. These are temporary and usually go away with time. However, if they persist or worsen, let your doctor know. Avoid unnecessary sun exposure and cover the treated areas with clothing or use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. It is advised, not to have any cosmetic procedures during the treatment. The medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctors before using this medicine.
Micogent Lotion helps treat and control skin infections caused by bacteria such as boils, impetigo (red sores on face), infection in the hair follicle, etc. It may also be used to prevent infections in small cuts, wounds, burns, or ulcers on your skin. Micogent Lotion is also used to treat fungal infections like athlete’s foot (infection between toes), Jock itch (infection of the groin area), and ringworm. Apply 2-3 times a day to get relief from itching, swelling, and redness caused by infection. You might see a change in your skin appearance in a week if used as prescribed by your doctor.

How Micogent Lotion works
Micogent Lotion is a combination of two medicines: Gentamicin and Miconazole. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Miconazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Together, they treat your skin infection effectively.

Dear sir please elaborate your symptoms, history, treatment and investigations done.
my scrotum and the skin on my thighs next to my scrotum have been red and itchy and had a somewhat scaly texture, sometimes they'd get so itchy that I would have to scratch, the past few weeks my scrotum has started to smell and produce a sweat like substance (it's like sweat except it never goes away and it leaves white stains in my underwear where my scrotum is near the fabric,
Hello, I work in a very sweaty environment, I recently had a ringworm outbreak, I used EBERNET and it worked perfectly fine for me, On the recommendation of a few friends who suggested to use anti-fungal soap for a few days to ensure that the spores are completely eliminated from my body. Are there any effective anti-fungal soaps or shampoos that I can use to treat ringworm infection? Is there a method to determine if my scalp is affected by ringworm's? If I do happen to have this, What should be my next set of actions to treat ringworm's on scalp, before visiting a hospital/clinic? Regards, PATIENT

FAQs
What skin problems is Micogent Lotion usually prescribed for?
Micogent Lotion is used on the skin for mixed infections where both bacteria and fungi may be involved, such as infected eczema, athlete’s foot with bacterial superinfection, impetigo-like patches, and inflamed ringworm areas.
How soon should I expect my skin to start looking better after using Micogent Lotion?
Many people notice a reduction in redness and discomfort within a few days of Micogent Lotion use, while clearer skin can take 1 to 2 weeks. Your doctor may review progress at 2 to 4 weeks if needed.
Can I use Micogent Lotion on broken or oozing skin?
Micogent Lotion is intended for external skin use on affected areas. Your doctor may allow use on superficial, weeping patches, but avoid deep wounds, punctures, or large open areas unless specifically advised.
Is it okay to use Micogent Lotion on the face, groin, or underarms where skin is thin?
Delicate areas can be more sensitive. Use Micogent Lotion only if your doctor directs you, apply a very thin layer, and stop if irritation worsens.
Will Micogent Lotion help with itching and burning that come with rashes?
As the infection settles, the itch and burn typically ease. Cool compresses and emollients can be used alongside Micogent Lotion, as advised by your doctor.
What if I don’t see any improvement after a week of proper Micogent Lotion use?
If you do not notice any signs of improvement after a week of using Micogent Lotion, check back with your doctor. You may need a different treatment or an evaluation for conditions that mimic infection (like contact dermatitis or psoriasis).
After the rash clears, should I stop Micogent Lotion right away or stop gradually?
Follow your doctor's advised duration. Stopping Micogent Lotion too soon may allow the infection to return. Continuing longer than advised may irritate the skin.
