METBAX TABLET is used in the treatment of cholestatic liver diseases, alcoholic fatty liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver.

How to use Metbax Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. METBAX TABLET may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Metbax Tablet works

METBAX TABLET is an antioxidant. It works by protecting the liver from harmful chemical substances (free radicals). It also works by increasing alcohol elimination from the blood and tissues, thus preventing liver damage.

Expert advice for Metbax Tablet

  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • METBAX TABLET helps the liver perform its normal function.
  • It should preferably be taken after meals. One of the doses should always be taken after your evening meal.
  • Do not take antacids that contain aluminum while you are taking METBAX TABLET as this decreases the amount of METBAX TABLET absorbed by your body.
  • Do not take METBAX TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

METBAX TABLET may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

It is not known whether METBAX TABLET alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

What if you miss a dose of Metbax Tablet?uses

If you miss a dose of METBAX TABLET, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
