How Mefedrot MR Tablet works

Mefedrot MR 500mg/2mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Mefenamic acid and Tizanidine which relieve abdominal pain. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant which works by acting on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve the muscle stiffness or spasm.

Use of Mefedrot MR 500mg/2mg Tablet is not advised in patients with severe liver disease. Liver function tests are recommended before the start of treatment and then on a regular basis as advised.

What if you forget to take Mefedrot MR Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Mefedrot MR 500mg/2mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
